Amazing food and service, went for a super meal there last night on cold windy night. The welcome was warm and friendly with such knowledgable staff, waiting for each lovely course was a joy. So thank you for such a beautiful experience

Very disappointing. Poor service. Two waitresses who were really slow. The roast for the Sunday lunch was tasteless. Roast potatoes that had seen better days as had the Yorkshire pudding. Does not deserve any accolade. We were really looking forward to this and it sadly let us down Even the wine said 2016 on the menu but when it came was a 2017.

Elly, what a talented chef you are. Truly delicious tasting menu, massive flavour, such a memorable experience. Hats off to Charles, a skilled affable chap who certainly knows his wines and delivered a first class service with a smile. Certainly not expensive for such quality ingredients, cooked to perfection. We will be back again soon. Well done Elly and team. Christopher and Deborah Davey

As a result of our friends’ recommendation, we had booked dinner on 19th May. The restaurant was very busy, but the staff quickly showed us to our table. The menu was very good, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. We could not recommend this restaurant more highly and look forward to a dinner there when we return next year. We went here on the 30/12 for a meal and I must say we were not disappointed. The tasting menu with wine flight was exceptional! We have eaten at a few Michelin starred Restaurants, and I am surprised that this has not got one, it really was that good. We felt welcome upon arrival, with all the staff friendly, the location is fantastic and restaurant nicely decorated. Thank you for a lovely evening 😊

Went here as never been to Michelin star restaurant. Yes it was exactly what I expected. Exquisite tastes and beautifully presented but of course small portions and EXPENSIVE. Wouldn't bother again. I'd choose Riverford Field Kitchen every time although it's a different thing of course.

I had been dying to try this place since first moving to Devon, fifteen years ago, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff and service were impeccable and the food was sublime. I have never eaten a starter that I can honestly say, made me emotional. The Loch Duart salmon was exquisite, drenched in an incredible butter, with roast spring onions. Main was a very traditional Sunday Roast, but cooked to a level of heaven inexplicable with words. While i plumped for the cheese and crackers, (my first taste of goat's cheese), and a delightful thyme cracker, with a punchy chutney side, while my husband opted for rhubarb and custard, a deconstructional delight 😊 All in all, I couldn't fault it. Lovely place, lovely people, ill be dreaming about that salmon tonight ❀️
